Soccer

Grunthal Soccer Club seeks to provide an affordable opportunity, primarily for youth, to have the chance to play soccer in an environment that they can be active while growing their soccer skills and love for the game.  

This 2023 spring we are again excited to be a part of the Eastman Youth Soccer League !

We can enter teams in the U11-U18 categories.  This includes kids born in 2013-2003.  (some kids born in 2014 maybe taken onto a U11 team if there is room on a case by case basis)  The goal is to have boys and girls teams where possible but in cases where we can’t there maybe teams entered as co-ed teams.  If you have a child with a 2014 birthday who really wants to play league soccer please email us before registering them so we can consider them after we give priority to the kids in the 2012/2013 years first.

U11 (Born 2012 or 2013) Games will be Tues/Thurs at 7pm

U13 (Born 2010 or 2011) Games will be Mon/Wed at 7pm

U15 (Born 2008 or 2009) Games will be Tues/Thurs at 7pm

U18 (Born 2005,2006,2007) Games will be Mon/Wed at 7pm

The cost is $85 per player for league which includes insurance, jersey, equipment and league player fee.  

Each player will need to have soccer cleats, shin guards and soccer socks.

The league will run early May (we will practice as soon as we can get onto the fields) and it runs to the end of June with a tournament to close out the season on June 23/24 in all age categories other than U18 who usually have play offs.  The U18 division will only go ahead if they have enough teams. If they do not we may try to do something in house or with another community to further their training and arrange some games. 

As a whole league play often consists of 2 games per week and practices are fit in at the start of the season and on weeks when they play one game only or at the coaches discretion.

Games will be split between home and away games. Away games could have teams travelling to towns such as Vita, Niverville, Otterburne, Blumenort, Steinbach, St. Anne, Anola, Dugald and Beauserjour potentially. Car pools will be up to the teams to arrange.

Coaches/assistants will be needed for each team  so please send us an email to let us know if you are willing to help and we can give you the details you need and support you with training. We are also looking for referees and pay for this position and are willing to train.

Fall Mini Soccer Camp $35 (This program is for kids with birth years 2014-2018 )

Mini soccer will  run in the fall this year .  There are many reasons we are choosing to separate the two programs this year. We plan on sharing some of the points that drove that decision with our soccer families and will share on our website for viewing during the first week of registration.  One reason is, we expect our new field to be ready for the mini’s to use at that time.  The program will run for the month of September Sept 5th and ending Sept 28th  ( 8 sessions) as long as we have the volunteers in place.

The sessions will last 1 hour for kids Grade 1-4 and 45 mins for the Pre-K and Kindergarten kinds and will take place twice a week.  The days and times will be determined once we have volunteers in place but we are shooting for Tuesdays and Thursdays 5-6pm.  Please let us know if you want to get involved!  You can register now till June 30th.
